The Ocoee River, host of the 1996 Whitewater Olympics, is minutes from Ellijay and Blue Ridge and offers rafting, kayaking, canoeing just to name a few of the ways to spend a fun day. Zip Lines Tours are also becoming a favorite for many people and what better place to enjoy the sport than the North Georgia area. Bikers also love to ride in the mountains with the cooler temperatures it is common to see bikers in the Fort Mountain area. Fort Mountain State Park, just west of Ellijay, offers 30 miles of mountain bike trails, 14 miles of hiking trail and so much more at an elevation of around 3,000 feet.

Ellijay and Blue Ridge is also a birdwatchers paradise with all of the many species that live in the diverse areas of woodland, mountain streams, open farm land, deep in the woods of the wildlife managed areas or just your own back yard. Wildlife is abundant in the mountains with many deer, turkeys, black bear, raccoons, bobcats and much more. Georgia Wildlife Managements areas are great place for hunting or fishing and we hold a large area in Ellijay and Blue Ridge for these activities.
